A MAN has been hit with a court fine for his drunken behaviour.

Nicholas Ashbrook pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates' Court on July 8 to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

The charge relates to an incident on June 17 earlier this year when the 29-year-old, of Ash Grove, Weaverham, was drunk in the same street.

Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates fined Ashbrook £100.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £40.

Ashbrook was granted permission to pay the court bill in instalments, starting from August 5.
