A CHESHIRE model has traded in her old life of luxury for one on four wheels after converting an old builder’s van into a lavish mobile home.
Honour May Spencer, who is originally from Knutsford, sold her £1 million penthouse on the Brighton seafront for a life as a nomadic traveller – albeit one with a good dose of home comforts.
The 26-year-old, who can earn thousands every month from her work, said she was prompted into the life-changing move after realising just how much time she spent away from her home.
“I’d managed to earn enough to buy this amazing penthouse in Brighton, but I was just never there to enjoy it,” she said.
“I’d spend so much of my time working away, travelling up and down the country, and it even affected my relationship.
“So, when that all came to an end, I just wanted to do something completely different.
“I’ve always been a country girl at heart after being brought up in a farmhouse on the edge of Knutsford, so living a life on the road, enjoying the open air, really appealed to me.”
The switch to a new way of life didn’t get off to the best of starts when the first van Honour bought to transform into her dream home was stolen from a hotel carpark in Leeds.
“I was devastated,” she said.
“I’d already put in so much hard work and then found myself starting all over again from scratch.
“But I was so determined to do this, so I invested in another van and got straight to work.”
Honour has no DIY experience, but with the help of many helpful videos on YouTube, transforming the basic van into Liberté – a super high-end home and studio.
“It’s all been done to my tastes, which are very pink, girly and high end.
“I even invested in a boiler, so I’ve got an amazing ensuite bathroom and shower.
“It’s perfect for my life on the road with my two girls (working cocker-spaniels Marcia, three, and eight-month-old puppy Marie).”
Honour is set to hit the road for Europe, starting off with the vineyards of France this August.
