THE popular annual Neston Village Fair was held on Saturday at Comrades' Field.

Since 2000, the Village Fair has been a popular event that many of the locals look forward to attending.

This years fair included an afternoon of non-stop entertainment provided mainly by local children and groups.

All the stalls that are step up are run by either local charities giving them an opportunity to raise money or by local societies and clubs.

The day was opened by the Mayor of Neston, Cllr Pat Kynaston, who crowned the Rose Queen at the event.

As well as entertainment there were a number of activities on the field, some of which were free, to keep both children and adults entertained.

Mary Render said: "Wonderful afternoon and great to see so many people there."

Chris Lett added: "What a lovely afternoon. Chitty Bang Bang car and the others were great."

Chair of the Neston Village Fair Committee, Keith Moores said: "I would like to thank all of our generous Sponsors, including the Town Council, and all those who gave their time to help set up, dismantle and to help run the event on the day.

"A special thanks to all our splendid performers for entertaining us throughout the afternoon. We were blessed with fine weather and judging by the atmosphere on the field it was a great success and hopefully everyone who attended went away with fond memories."
