A NEW nursery is to open its doors in Chester later this year.

Affiliated to the award winning Firs School, Chester, and sharing its Newton Lane base, Fir Cones Day Nursery will offer all year-round (51 weeks) day care for children aged 0-4 years from September.

Located close to Hoole, the welcoming, purpose-built day nursery is currently being re-imagined ensuring the practical functionality of the space is in line with the stimulating and caring environment upon which it is founded, and final designs will be released as soon as they have been finalised.

Fir Cones is a standalone day nursery, but draws upon the more than 75 years of educational experience the Firs School has to offer. Central to the nursery’s ethos is celebrating the uniqueness of every pupil and developing a love of learning that they will continue throughout their school career, and beyond.

Tim Longman, director of Fir Cones and The Firs School, says. “Opening Fir Cones as a standalone day nursery allows us to extend our excellent early years provision and our vision and aims to welcome the youngest minds and personalities to the Firs family.

"We aim to provide a secure, happy, stimulating environment where childhood is celebrated, and in partnership with parents and teachers we can provide a safe space where our pupils can flourish and follow their dreams.”

Fir Cones will offer a Baby Room, for children 0-2 years old, a Middle Nursery, for children from 2-3 years old, and a Pre-School, for those aged 3-4 years. Full day, morning and afternoon sessions are available with all sessions based around exploring interests, learning from play, and engaging in indoor and outdoor activities.
