A NEW £2.9 million specialist nursing home for adults living with complex needs has opened its doors in Ellesmere Port.

Cheshire Springs, which will be Exemplar Health Care’s first home in Cheshire West and Chester, will support 20 adults living with a range of complex and high acuity needs arising from neuro-disability, brain injury and stroke, spinal injury, mental health, physical disability and dementia.

The new home officially opened on Monday, June 20.

The new complex needs care home has 20 large bedrooms across two units, spread over two floors and surrounded by large and accessible landscaped gardens for residents and visitors to enjoy. Every bedroom comes equipped with an en-suite wet room, and, in addition, the home has an activities hub, sensory bathroom and is close to local amenities and transport links so that people can maintain their community connections.

Speaking about the opening, Lindsay Abraham, home manager for Cheshire Springs, said: “I’m thrilled to have opened Exemplar Health Care’s newest home in Cheshire. We are excited to provide person-centred care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.

“Being able to offer over 100 jobs to those from the local area who are wanting to progress their careers or start out in the industry, is extremely rewarding. As a team we will be able to provide person-centred care to 20 adults with high acuity, complex needs.”
