A RESIDENT at Acorn Manor care home in Ellesmere Port celebrated her 100th birthday this week, with gifts, cake and a special message from the Queen.
Evelyn Roberts has been with the home in Pooltown Road for almost a decade, and celebrated her centenary year on Tuesday (June 21), alongside staff, and her niece Valery.
Senior Care Assistant, Kay Sadler, said: "Evelyn has been a apart of our family since 2013 and is a pleasure to know.
"As a true Welsh lady Evelyn enjoys nothing more than to sing songs to staff in Welsh and share stories about Bala Lake."
Kay and care assistants Daisy Bennett and Cameron Heppell presented Evelyn with her special birthday cake which she later enjoyed a slice from.
Alongside several gifts and cards from friends and family, came a message from the Queen congratulating Evelyn for reaching the milestone. In Evelyn's words: "That's just smashing, lovely."
The care home's manager Natalie Griffin and her staff said that it was a pleasure and an honour to be able to share the day with Evelyn.
Kay Sadler added: "We look forward to more memorable moments and sharing these, and we all wish Evelyn all our love and best wishes."
