THOUSANDS of spectators returned to Chester Racecourse on Saturday, June 11, for the Edinburgh Gin Summer Saturday.
In bright and breezy weather, punters were able to enjoy a full afternoon of seven races, after the previous event at the Roodee had to be curtailed for the first time in 10 years on safety grounds.

Taking the spoils in the £101,000 feature race of the day, The Extra Places Every Day at Betway Handicap Stakes at 3.20pm, was Outgate, ridden by Richard Kingscote.

Winning the £61,000 Edinburgh Gin Boyzlife Handicap Stakes at 3.55pm was Soapy Stevens, ridden by Franny Norton.
That race was keenly watched by former Boyzone and Westlife stars Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden, who were in attendance at Chester Racecourse.
