CHESTER firm Calico Campers have launched a 'No Flight? Free Night' campaign for holiday goers who may have flights cancelled this summer.

The campervan hire company is offering free campervan hire promising that that on proof of a cancelled overseas holiday for 2022, they’ll give away one free night in either their 4-berth family friendly campervan or their 2-berth eco campervan alongside a new booking.

With Tui recently announcing that six flights a day may be cancelled throughout June, the Chester business is hoping that they may be able to help those who were unable to go ahead with trips abroad.

Chester and District Standard:

Mark Armstrong, Co-Owner of Calico Campers, said: "People’s long-awaited holidays are being unfairly snatched away from them, and as a UK holiday-provider, it’s heartbreaking to read about.

"We’ve launched “No Flight? Free Night” in the hope of turning a negative into a positive and to ensure that everyone who wants a fantastic holiday this year gets one."

The company suggests sea fronts like Barmouth, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Anglesey or Abersoch which all within a short drive.

Alternatively locations like the Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, The Peak District and Snowdonia are perfect beauty spots for those who are not bothered about the beach.

According to Airlines UK, before the pandemic, airports and airlines across Great Britain employed around 140,000 people. This figure has been cut by around 30,000 jobs just for UK airlines alone following tight restrictions on international travel.

Job cuts from the Covid pandemic has meant travel operators such as Tui, British Airways and Easyjet have all cancelled multiple flights in the last month. Tui's cancellations alone are thought to affect around 34,000 holiday goers.
