A SECTION of the M56 was closed following a multiple vehicle crash this afternoon, Friday.

Two fire crews attended the scene on the M56 west bound between junctions 12 and 14, shortly after 4pm.

Firefighters were called to the road traffic collision which involved three vehicles and a motorbike.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Everyone was out of the vehicles on the arrival of the crews, who made the vehicles safe.

"Police and paramedics also attended along with Highways England.

"Three lanes were closed while the incident was dealt with."
