A RESTAURANT chain has announced that it will soon be opening a new branch in Chester.

One of six new locations for the business, Tomahawk Steakhouse Chester is set to open in mid July at 27 Newgate Street in the heart of the city centre.

Previously the site of Brazilian restaurant Picanha, which was forced to close permanently in March 2021 due the strain of the Covid pandemic, the new owners have built their reputation on perfectly cooked meat and steaks which they say are "For the authentic meat connoisseur".

The restaurant will be brand new to the city, with their closest outpost currently Stockton Heath in Warrington.

In a statement on Facebook yesterday (May 24) the company said: "Exciting announcement. Tomahawk Steakhouse is coming to Chester!

"We're proud to announce our next restaurant will be opening mid July at 27 Newgate Street, CH1 1DQ."

Tomahawk Steakhouse Chester will be serving Himalayan salt dry-aged steaks, Wagyu and other local meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
