A Cheshire West man has been banned from part of Greater Manchester after attacking two women.

Lucas Smith, who also goes by the name of Lucas Haslam, assaulted the women in Trafford on November 6 last year, causing them both actual bodily harm.

The 23-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

But as the case went through the courts, he threatened one of the women, who was standing as a witness against him, before attacking her again in Sale on February 18 this year.

Smith appeared at court on February 26 where he pleaded guilty to a total of three assault charges and one of intimidating a witness or juror.

Returning to Tameside Magistrates' Court on May 12, Smith's case was committed to Manchester Crown Court for sentencing on June 9.

Magistrates imposed a conditional bail on Smith at the hearing, banning him from entering the Greater Manchester area except to attend court or pre-arranged appointments with a solicitor.

He is also prohibited from contacting, directly or indirectly, the two women he attacked and another man.

Smith was also directed to live and sleep each night at his Queensway address in Winsford.

The conditions were imposed to prevent interference with witnesses or otherwise obstruct the course of justice and to prevent offending.
