POLICE have confirmed that a motorcyclist died following a collision in Cheshire.

Officers have launched an appeal after the crash at about 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 17).

It occurred on Pexhill Road, Macclesfield and involved a white Suzuki motorbike and a black Land Rover Freelander.

Sadly, the motorcyclist, a 60-year-old local man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage or witnessed the collision to get in touch.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage in relation to the incident is asked to report it to Cheshire Constabulary via the Cheshire Police website quoting IML 1271223, or call on 101.
