POLICE have issued CCTV footage of two men who are wanted after a boy was attacked and robbed in the street.

The teenager and a friend were stood near to the tennis courts on Highlands Road in Runcorn shortly after 5.30pm on Tuesday, May 10, when they were approached by the pair – who were riding a motorbike.

Police say the passenger grabbed the youngster and ordered him to hand over his bike before the offenders, who were wearing balaclavas, fled on the moped with the bicycle.

While the stolen property has since been returned to the owner, Cheshire Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective constable Lois Elvey said: “This would have been a terrifying ordeal for the teenagers and I want the community to know that we are doing everything possible to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.

“We have several enquiries underway and know that after the incident, the suspects are believed to have travelled to Widnes via the Silver Jubilee Bridge carrying the bike.

“As part of these enquiries, we have issued CCTV of two males we would like to speak to in connection with the robbery.

“If you know who they are, or the males themselves, please contact us.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the suspects around the time of the incident and has not yet got in touch to please do so.”
