Children from The Firs School Gardening Club recently took a trip to Walkers Nurseries to stock up on some new plants for the school's forrest and pond area.
The green-fingered group was accompanied by teachers Mrs Warrington and Mr Smethurst and were kindly given two trolleys to fill by the garden centre.
Having selected the beautiful flowers and plants with great enthusiasm, the new acquisitions are to be used to revitalised the space and teach the children at the gardening club all about planting.
Rosemary Evans Headteacher at The Firs School, said: "The children really enjoyed the visit and were able to meet Mr Walker, the owner and then were able to plant their choices at the gardening club the very same day.
"We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the wonderful staff at ‘Walkers Nurseries’ in Huntington for looking after the children and for their extremely kind donations."
