Chester restaurant The Forge is due to celebrate its first anniversary this month, with a new offer available for diners.

Having opened in Grosvenor Park Road just under 12 months ago, during what the team describe as "not such an easy time", the restaurant has since gone from strength to strength.

In a statement The Forge said: "We can't quite believe it ourselves but we have been open for an entire year already, and what a year it has been.

"As a little celebration and as a thank you to our marvellous guests, we will be offering everybody a glass of Gusbourne bubbles with each booking between 18:00-20:00 on our birthday, May 17th."

Created by restaurateur and chef Mike Robinson, The Forge has become popular for its locally sourced and sustainable produce which is combined by Head Chef and Chester native Mike Peters and his team into luxurious meals.

Popular dishes include: Welsh lamb rump with wild garlic salsa verde, anchovy mayonnaise, lamb fat potato fondant and beetroot ketchup; Monkfish on the bone with cheek scampi, monks beard and turnip and Poached rhubarb with custard ice cream, praline and madeleines.
