A CHESTER man “obsessed with teen porn” has been jailed for raping a boy under the age of 13.

Andrew Davies, 57, pleaded guilty to forcing the boy to perform oral sex on him over the course of about three years and on at least 13 occasions.

As he sentenced him to an extended 20 years, Judge Steven Everett told Davies he posed a significant serious risk to children and had “no concept” about the effect of his “terrible behaviour”.

Matthew Corbett-Jones, prosecuting at Chester Crown Court on Monday, May 9, said Davies would pay the boy money afterwards.

“He threatened him and told him not to tell anybody as they wouldn’t believe him," he said

“He also paid him between £5 and £10 on each occasion.”

When his victim, now a teenager, plucked up the courage to report Davies to the police, he was arrested but initially denied the allegations.

“He was interviewed and told police the victim was making the allegations up and that they were ludicrous and bizarre,” Mr Corbett-Jones added.

“He was bailed and while staying with family friends, admitted he may have done bad things and that he was obsessed with teen pornography.”

He voluntarily attended a police station days later and made full admissions, as well as disclosing sinister fantasies about other children to the custody nurse.

Richard Thomas, defending, said his client’s only real mitigation was the fact his early guilty pleas had meant there was no need for a lengthy police investigation or trial.

“He is a man who recognises what he has done is terrible and wants to be helped so it never happens again,” he said.

“When he admitted his guilt, he genuinely thought he would be sectioned.

“Since being diagnosed as bipolar he has been taking lithium which he claims has raised his sexual libido.”

His Honour Judge Steven Everett told Davies he had “no concept” of what he had done.

“You used him for your sexual desires,” he said.

“It’s clear it has had a devastating effect on him.

“You don’t even have the slightest concept of what you’ve done.

“What I see is a complete lack of understanding.

“I don’t see any remorse.

“You pose a significant risk of serious harm to children.”

The judge sentenced Davies to serve 14 years in prison and a further six to be served on license while also ordering him to sign the sex offenders register for life.
