THE cause of a fire which hit a Chester city centre flat has been found, following an investigation by firefighters.
Two fire engines and an aerial appliance from Chester, plus two fire engines from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were deployed to the block of flats at Wellington Place, St Anne Street, next to the Supertrees Roundabout, at 3.09pm on Tuesday, April 19.
Police set up a cordon around the area on the roundabout, diverting traffic and closing lanes, while firefighters dealt with the incident.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, while Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved the bedroom of a flat in the property and all persons were accounted for.
At 7.45pm, firefighters had concluded their investigation into what caused the blaze, and determined it had been started by an electrical fault.
