TEENAGERS were taken to hospital after they were assaulted at a train station.

Officers were called to New Brighton train station at 6.40pm on April 17 following reports that two teenage girls had been assaulted.

The girls sustained minor injuries.

A family member of one of the victims shared on Facebook that his 17-year-old granddaughter was a victim of the “unprovoked attack” and was taken to hospital for her injuries.

Officers are still looking into the incident. 

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to New Brighton station at 6.40pm on 17 April following reports that two girls had been assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

“Officers attended and conducted a full search of the area however the suspects had left the scene.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
