A MAN who took off all his clothes in a busy Chester city centre has been jailed.

David Haskell Hill, 54, of Brook Street, had previously pleaded guilty to the charge of intentionally exposing his genitals, when he appeared at Chester Magistrates Court.

Prosecutor Jonathan Wilkinson said Hill exposed himself at 4.30pm on Thursday, February 24, outside JD Sports, at the junction of Eastgate Street and Foregate Street.

Hill "stripped completely naked", with Mr Wilkinson adding: "I have, unfortunately, seen the footage.

"It was very busy, there are a lot of people around, including children."

A pre-sentence report was requested on February 25 and Hill was bailed.

However, Hill was subsequently discovered by police being drunk and disorderly in Bridge Street, Chester, on March 1, and in Volunteer Street on March 13.

He had also stolen a bottle of wine from Sainsbury's on March 13.

Previously, Hill had also been charged with threatening behaviour in an offence from February 12.

By committing the further offences, Hill had been in breach of post-sentence supervision requirements.

Hill pleaded guilty to all the charges.

Previously, the court heard Hill had been "very candid" with probation by saying he had no money and was in receipt of food parcels, so for alcohol he had been drinking hand sanitiser with juice.

He had been complying with probation, but he needed to put himself in a position where he could be accepted into dry accommodation.

Magistrates sentenced Hill to a total of 10 weeks in prison for the offences.

He must now sign the sex offenders register for the next seven years and pay a victim surcharge of £128.

No court costs or compensation orders were made due to the defendant's financial means.
