General booking is now open for the Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.

One of the city's best loved events, the Open Air Theatre will be taking place from the 1 July through to the 29 of August, with three headline performances which are sure to sell out.

On 1 July, Grosvenor Park will play host to Shakespeare's classic romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, updated to late 1950s Italy. Performances will take place right up until the 28 August.

From 8 July, Little Women, reimagined by Anne Odeke to take place in Britain before WW1. Organisers describe it as a "timely adaptation of the timeless novel". Little Women will be performed until 29 August.

Finally, previously a sell-out production which garnered critical acclaim from both the Guardian and The Stage, Stig of the Dump will be returning to Grosvenor Park from 22 July to 29 August, with Clive King's classic tale perhaps the perfect production for outdoor performance.

Alongside the plays will be a series of other special events including music, comedy gigs and family activities to be announced soon.

A teepee bar will serve craft beers, cask ales and frozen margaritas with hot wood-fired pizzas, ice cream and other refreshments available throughout the summer.
