What's the best April Fools joke you have spotted this morning? Where you unlucky enough to fall for any of these?

Many people were caught out by the now infamous Have I Got News For You Tweet earlier today (1 April), which claimed that the Prime Minister had resigned over the partygate scandal, but closer to home some across Cheshire were also getting into the spirit.

Dee Point Primary in Blacon played a gentle joke on its pupils and parents via its Twitter account this morning.

The school said: "Oh no kids, can you believe it, our last day of term and the bagel bus has broken down.

"But don't worry instead of a hot buttered bagel to greet you, I've been up all night making sprout sandwiches. Yum yum!!! #happyhalfterm #1stApril"

We're not sure what was worse, the joke or the image that accompanied it.

Hoole Food Market caused a stir with its limited edition produce, although you had to be quick as once 12 o'clock came they would no longer be available.

"Look what Leann managed to get at market this morning...

"Very limited supply.

"Local cucananas

"Egg Plant

"Specials from a collaboration between one of our market gardeners and our egg producer.

"Available this morning only."

In the unlikely event that someone did rush down to grab a cucanana or an egg plant, we fear it may have been a wasted journey.

Elsewhere, the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum welcomed a very special visitor, as the HMS Ark Royal sailed in to port. There had been almost no indication that the aircraft carrier was due to arrive today, but if you did want to catch a glimpse of it, you had to be there before noon.

Steve Dogster said via Facebook: "Fantastic sight to see HMS Ark Royal on her way to visit the Boat Museum! She's there til noon today apparently!"

Chester and District Standard:

Some simply chose to identify everything as a lie until this afternoon, which is a surefire way to avoid any embarrassing incidents.
