HSBC customers in Ellesmere Port will soon have to travel to Birkenhead or Chester after the bank announced today that its Whitby Road branch will be closing this year.
The banking giant said the closures have been driven by the continued growth of online banking across its customers and the Ellesmere Port building is due to close on 15 September.
The move will see 69 branches close across the UK in 2022 as part of what HSBC are calling a "transformation programme".
A further 82 sites have already been axed in the last year.
