UNIVERSITY of Chester students are bringing fundraising fun to the first Sunday in March with an event in the city featuring live music and a quiz.

The Sunday Funday, in aid of Breast Cancer Now, will be held at The Church Chester Bar and Restaurant, Newgate Street, on Sunday, March 6.

The charity event is hosted by LEGH Events, a team of four second year events management students - Emma Chamberlain, Leah Aldridge, Grace Andrew, and Heather Glancey.

Doors open at 6pm and tickets are £5 (plus a booking fee), with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Now, which provides support for people suffering from breast cancer, funds pioneering research, and advocates for change in patient care.

The event also aims to raise awareness with an estimated one in seven women in the UK alone developing breast cancer in their lifetime.

The evening will include an interactive quiz, live music and raffle, as well as a special guest speaker. Capacity is limited to 40 so people are urged to please book early to avoid missing out.

Leah Aldridge, team leader for LEGH Events, said: “We can’t wait to see music and quiz fans enjoying the event and supporting this amazing charity. It promises to be a fun night with lots of prizes, all in aid of a great cause.

“Being able to create an event as part of our degree has been really challenging but exciting, and the best part is that we get to support our community too.”

Dr Tim Brown, programme leader for events management at the University of Chester added: “This event is one of a number that our second year Events Management students are delivering in aid of a range of charities and in support of the local community.

“The Sunday Funday is shaping up to be a really fun event, benefitting an important charity, and the money raised will help to support their work.”

The Sunday Funday is a ticket-only event. Tickets are available through Eventbrite or at https://leghevents22.wixsite.com/website.

It is recommended that there is a minimum of four and a maximum of six people in a quiz team. The quiz starts at 7pm.
