A CENOTAPH outside an Ellesmere Port church has been badly damaged by a fallen tree as a result of Storm Franklin.
Gales of up to 60mph have been battering the area this morning (Monday, February 21), causing disruption and hazardous conditions for residents.
Cheshire West and Chester Council's Streetscene team has been called out to numerous incidents involving fallen trees.
And, sadly, one such fallen tree has happened to land on the cenotaph which lies outside Christ Church, Ellesmere Port.
The Elim Pentecostal Church, which contains 26 war graves in the churchyard, is located off Worcester Street.
Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders, upon hearing of the news, said: "It is awful to see, hopefully it won't be long before it's reinstated."
