A NEW mural featuring picturesque puppies has been unveiled at Cheshire Oaks.

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks will welcome the new ‘Puppy Love’ pop-up café for Valentine’s Day.

And to celebrate the launch of the dog-friendly venue, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet teamed up with inspiring street artist AKSE P19 to create an original mural, celebrating the ‘paw-fect’ pooches of Cheshire.

The renowned Mancunian artist has created significant works including the famous Manchester portrait of Marcus Rashford,a multi-storey mural of late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis for World Mental Health Day in 2020, tributes to David Bowie, George Floyd and Captain Sir Tom Moore.

The new commission for Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet saw local pups being nominated through a social media competition, where several dogs won the opportunity to feature in the mural by the famous artist.

The artwork was unveiled on Sunday, February 6, ahead of the grand opening of the new Puppy Love Café in Bakers & Baristas on February 14.

Following data revealing that ‘73 per cent of humans claim their canine companion is their soulmate’, Bakers & Baristas and The Original Dog Bakery have joined forces to create the ultimate doggy-date destination for Valentine’s Day.

Guests of the centre will be able to stop by the Puppy Love Café, located within Bakers & Baristas, to celebrate their puppy love over a ‘hooman’ sweet treat and hot drink, with a puppicino and a doggie donut for your four-legged friend.

From February 14-18, visitors can bring their furry soulmate along to the Puppy Love Café and treat them to lovingly handmade patisserie style snacks, packed full of natural ingredients.

Dog owners can choose from freshly baked cakes and tea or coffee.

Akse P19, street artist, said: “The response to the dog mural competition has been a great success; people have posted some fantastic photos of their canine soulmates, it’s really been fun to make this mural come to life.”

The mural was unveiled at a launch event which took place on Sunday, with the six pups featuring in the mural invited down for the grand reveal.

The dogs featured in AKSE P19’s mural were Oscar (miniature dachshund), Dobby (miniature labradoodle), Basil (basset hound), Cooper (Manchester terrier), Snoop (miniature poodle) and Hattie (cocker spaniel).
