TWO men who stole a pair of headphones from a Chester store have been banned from seeing each other in public.

Simon Brown, 49, of no fixed abode and Kyle Lewis Glover, 31, of Byron Close, Chester, had both denied stealing the £165 headphones from the B&M Bargains store in the Greyhound Retail Park, Chester.

But Brown was found guilty and Glover changed his plea to guilty on the day of his trial at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 25.

Brown was also found guilty of breaching a community protection notice by entering a prohibited area.

Brown was fined £100, ordered to pay compensation of £82.50, court costs of £300 and a victim surcharge of £34.

He was subjected to an indefinite Criminal Behaviour Order, banning him from Chester city centre and the Greyhound Retail Park, apart from medical appointments at St Werburgh's Medical Practice on George Street.

He must also not approach people unknown to him to ask for money or alms in Cheshire, or sit on the floor or rucksack or any other item at the entrance or exit of any Cheshire retail premises or ATM.

When entering any Cheshire retail premises, Brown must not bag any item prior to payment being made, except for placing said item in a basket or trolley.

Glover was handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order, subject to a number of conditions.

He must immediately leave a premises when asked to do so by staff or security.

When entering any Cheshire retail premises, Glover must not bag any item prior to payment being made, except for placing said item in a basket or trolley.

He must also not associate with Brown in any public place in England or Wales.

He was fined £60 and told to pay £82.50 compensation.

No order for court costs or a victim surcharge was made as the court heard Glover already owed more than £6,000 in court fines.
