ELLESMERE Port Community Fire Station is to be given a fresh new look.
Plans have been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the fire station on Wellington Road to receive external improvements.
It is part of the Cheshire Fire Authority Modernisation Programme, which will eventually see the fire station receive improvements internally and externally.
The improvements programme includes a small infill extension to the internal courtyard, with a balcony roof at first floor level.
Works also include the installation of double glazing and new windows/doors, roof insulation, safety handrails on the roof perimeter and cladding.
To make the building even more eco-friendly, it is planner to use LED lighting and controls, as well as converting gas-fired heating into electric heating.
The plans are awaiting a decision by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
