Dee Point Primary and Guilden Sutton Primary have both made it to the final of the Cheshire Primary Schools Hate Crime Media Challenge.

Organised by Cheshire Safer Schools and Young People Partnership (SSYP) the competition required the children to create a podcast discussing bullying, tolerance and discrimination. These were then whittled down by the judges to 10 finalists.

From Dee Point Primary School in Blacon, George, Max and Archie rap about the importance of preventing discrimination by treating people equally. The three boys then act out how they would approach a situation in which a child is being bullied by another child and explain why it is important to treat newcomers with kindness and compassion.

Guilden Sutton C. of E. Primary's entry is presented by Ralph, who takes viewers through key definitions of diversity, equality and tolerance. He discusses how he and millions of others are unique and why these differences should be celebrated. Ralph's Top Tips then tell viewers about the importance of being a global citizen, being curious, treating others with respect and knowing your worth.

Cheshire SSYP works in partnership with Cheshire Police to safeguard and protect young people and it is hoped that the process of making these videos will encourage the younger generation to be mindful of the need to speak out and prevent bullying, discrimination and hate crime in the future. These and the other eight finalists' work have been added to Collaborate Digital's website where they can be voted on by the public.
