A Christian Dior hat, paperwork for the purchase of a horse and a large collection of Pokémon figures. No, it's not a surrealist version of the Generation Game.

These are just some of the items found in the 2021 Travelodge Lost & Found audit for Chester. The full list includes:

  • A roman cookbook and a family of teddy bears covering three generations, found at Chester Central Travelodge.
  • The aforementioned hat and a vintage typewriter which were left at the Chester Central Bridge Street hotel.
  • The Cheshire Oaks building discovered a fashion designer's sketch pad and a large collection of Pokémon figures. It is unclear if these two items were in the same room, but if next season's runways are full of Pikachu inspired outfits, you heard it here first.

The paperwork for the purchase of a horse was forgotten by a visitor to the Chester Northop Hall Travelodge. Technically this is Flintshire, but is still classed under the audit as Travelodge Chester.

Finally, Chester Warrington Road Travelodge kept hold of a five foot heart made from red roses and a red Valentino handbag containing 10,000 rupees, until they were reunited with their owners.

Elsewhere in the country, Stratford upon Avon's branch discovered a GT V8 Bentley convertible had been left behind. Presumably that individual received some strange looks when attempting to pull out of the car park on a suitcase.

One couple in Birmingham were so keen to get to their honeymoon, they left their Nikah Nama (Islamic marriage certificate) in their hotel room and one spacesuit's final frontier turned out to be the Travelodge at Nottingham Central.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge's Spokeswoman said: "When it comes to why so many of our customers forget their treasured items, it’s basically due to us all being time poor, juggling multiple tasks and being in a hurry to get from A to B. In the rush, valuable possessions are easily forgotten."
