MEMBERS of Chester Trampoline Club have a spring in their step after becoming qualified British Gymnastics coaches.

The BG Proficiency Award course was organised by the club’s Head Coach Colin Hall and took place in Chester's Northgate Arena on December 19.

The 14 participants, many of whom were under 18, achieved their first award on the gymnastics coaching ladder.

Becoming a young coach is well regarded by employers and universities and the responsibility encourages personal development and confidence.

They now can assist at the club’s 11 weekly sessions at Northgate Arena and Ellesmere Port Sports Village.

Colin Hall said: “It is great to see so much enthusiasm about the sport of trampolining, which is going from strength to strength locally.

“When I started the club just over four years ago, I was the only qualified trampolining coach in Chester and now we have over 20 coaches.

“The club currently has 150 members in Chester and Ellesmere Port and it is a source of great pride to me that many of them progress on to become coaches and support the younger ones”.

Congratulations to the club’s new coaches: Tracey Slawson, Erin Hewitt, Anna Williamson, Charlotte Price, Abigail Powell, Isabella Rimmer, Rosie Bembridge, Anna-Mai Jones, Erin Poole, George Cumberford, Katie Lowman, Elin Richardson and Alice Yates.
