A CHESTER city centre hotel is to launch a pop-up Bavarian market over the festive season.

Boutique hotel, restaurant and bar Oddfellows Chester on Lower Bridge Street will launch the market in its Secret Garden area.

The pop-up promises to offer bags of energy, fun and lively interiors, with a continental Christmas market-style atmosphere, with music, wursts and gluhwein-style cocktails.

With seating both undercover, in heated huts and next to outdoor fires, The Secret Garden at the award-winning hotel will transform with market-style shuttered huts, sparkly lights, furs, German-themed snacks, warming cocktails and live music nights.

Lauren Chatterton, general manager at Oddfellows, said: "This winter, more than ever, we really wanted to have fun in the garden – which many don’t realise is heated and covered all year around.

"We already have the fires and the heated huts - we certainly have the cocktails - so we are transforming our Cheshire garden to a Bavarian Market – but in a fun and playful Oddfellows way.

"If, for any reason, further Covid restrictions come into play this year, we’ll have a party atmosphere ready-to-go outdoors.

"It will be available to book in advance and we will be able to hold private VIP gatherings in the Potting Shed area too."

Oddfellows Bavarian Garden will run from November 26 through to January.
