A CHESTER man caught driving while disqualified has been jailed for a total of 12 weeks.

Ryan James Edward Holmes, 26, of Tennyson Walk, changed his plea to guilty when he appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, October 22, having previously denied the offence.

He admitted driving while subject to a ban and having no insurance.

He also admitted two offences of failing to surrender to custody at the court from two separate occasions, and failing to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following a period of imprisonment.

The court heard this was Holmes' fourth disqualified driving offence, when he was caught driving on Caldy Valley Road on June 23 in a Mini.

Holmes had failed to surrender to custody on September 8 and September 17.

Magistrates jailed Holmes for nine weeks for driving while disqualified, plus one week each for the two failures to surrender, plus one week for failing to comply with supervision requirements.

Holmes was also banned from driving for 30 months upon his release from custody.

He must also pay a £128 victim surcharge.
