A CHESTER-BASED social enterprise has an opportunity for a community-minded resident to join its board.

Blacon-based Avenue Services is a joint venture between Sanctuary and Cheshire West and Chester Council that is responsible for neighbourhood planning and delivering local services in Blacon, as well as funding and delivering projects that benefit the wider community.

It is currently welcoming applications from Blacon residents interested in joining its board as a community director.

Applicants must be 16 or over and don’t need any formal qualifications, though they should have a strong affiliation to Blacon, a willingness to commit to the role and a passion for helping to make a positive difference.

Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “Our community directors play a vital role in helping us meet our objectives and ensuring that the views of the Blacon community are heard and represented.

“If you’re passionate about Blacon and interested in helping us drive positive change, we’d love to hear from you.”

The closing date for applications is Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
