A CHARITABLE Santa Dash is to make its much-anticipated return for the 11th time to spread festive cheer around the streets of Chester.

This family-friendly fundraising event has thousands of Santas dashing, jogging and walking around Chester’s iconic landmarks including The Grosvenor Park, Amphitheatre, Eastgate Clock, Chester Cathedral and Chester Town Hall.

It will return on Sunday, December 5, supporting two great charities, Hospice of the Good Shepherd and The Countess Charity, with early bird tickets available now for a limited time.

Nicola Suggitt, community and events fundraiser, said: “We are delighted to be bringing back the Chester Santa Dash for 2021 which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

“This event has raised thousands of pounds for both charities and is a fixture of the festive period in Chester town centre and will no doubt be a great success again with registrations filling up fast. You do not want to miss out so make sure you take advantage of our early bird tickets by booking your place before October 31!”

Entry includes your own Santa Suit and a medal, and people can enter now at www.chestersantadash.com

The event, which is jointly organised by the local charities, has over the past 10 years raised in excess of £250,000 which has gone directly back to helping people in the local community.

The dash is perfect for families and little ones to get involved in with a great range of entertainment to keep your spirits high as you make your way around the route.

For over 30 years, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd has provided end of life care to patients living with life limiting conditions from Chester, West Cheshire and Ellesmere Port.

They provide a 10 bedded in-patient unit, a Living Well Centre which provides day support to help patients maintain their independence and to stay at home longer as well as bereavement support for both adults and children across the catchment area whether or not the death of their loved one was connected to the Hospice.

The Countess Charity generates and manages charitable income to enhance and improve patient facilities at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

They work with the local community, corporates and grant making trusts to raise money for over 80 funds across the hospital - each one making a real difference to patient care.
