FIREFIGHTERS were called out to an arson attack at a flat on a Chester estate.
Two fire crews attended the blaze involving the front door to the property in Western Avenue, Blacon, at about 10pm last night (Friday, October 22).
On arrival no-one was inside the premises.
Entry was forced and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
A large fan was then used to clear smoke from the flat.
Firefighters were in attendance for about an hour-and-a-half.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about the fire should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 1114740, or give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report.
