MORE than 600 new Covid-19 cases were recorded across Cheshire West and Cheshire East in the latest 24-hour period.
A total of 651 new cases were reported in Mid Cheshire between 4pm on October 17 and 4pm today, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
This is made up of 283 new cases in Cheshire West and Chester and 368 cases in Cheshire East.
The total number of cases in both boroughs now stands at 44,469 in Cheshire West and 47,196 in Cheshire East.
The latest update means there have now been 1,816 cases in the last seven days in Cheshire West, giving the borough a seven-day case rate of 528.2 per 100,000 people.
There have been 2,660 cases in Cheshire East over the last week, meaning the borough’s seven-day case rate is now 687.9 per 100,000.
Nationally there were 49,156 new Covid-19 cases across the UK in the latest 24-hour period.
