TWO people were seriously hurt and another sustained minor injuries following a motorcycle crash in Ellesmere Port.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the incident on Cromwell Road at 4.45pm yesterday (October 17).

The crash happened near to the Wellington Road junction.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said all three patients were reportedly on the motorcycle.

However, Cheshire Police stated that "the collision involved two scooters with one colliding with a lamp post".

A NWAS spokesman said: "Three patients, two with serious injuries, were taken to hospital.

"The other had minor injuries.

"All were reportedly on the same motorbike that crashed.

"We sent three ambulances, a Helimed crew, an advanced paramedic, a response vehicle and an operational commander to the scene.

"The 999 call came in at 16.45."

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "Shortly before 5pm on Sunday 17 October police were called to a collision on Cromwell Road in Ellesmere Port.

"The collision involved two scooters with one colliding with a lamp post.

"One male was taken to Aintree Hospital by land ambulance with injuries to his leg."
