A ROMANTIC evening for two was donated to an Ellesmere Port care home by generous supermarket staff.

Wine, wine glasses, chocolates, and biscuits for cheese were among the items given to Aaron Court Care Home, on Princes Road.

Morrisons, on Chester Road, assembled the hamper to support the care home’s annual Christmas raffle.

The goodies will be one of many prizes up for grabs, with all money raised going to the residents’ fund, to help towards activities and outings.

The care home’s activities co-ordinator, Julie Lloyd, and housekeeper, Mandy Johnson, paid a visit to the supermarket to pick up the hamper and thank staff in person.

Debbie McCauley, community champion of Ellesmere Port Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons, we believe in working in partnership with our communities and hope this donation will help to raise funds for future events at Aaron Court.”

Heather Thomson, home manager at Aaron Court Care Home, said: “The last 18 months of the pandemic have meant many of our usual fundraising events haven’t been able to go ahead, so we really appreciate the community spirit of Morrisons, to help towards our Christmas Raffle.”
