A MAN caught trying to deal class A drugs in Ellesmere Port has been jailed.

Liam Hemmel, 26, of Netley Street, Liverpool, had previously pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply, plus a charge of possessing heroin with intent to supply.

Chester Crown Court heard on Friday, October 8 that the offences dated back from August 8, 2020, in Ellesmere Port.

Hemmel was found to have four wraps of diamorphine, weighing 1.15g.

He also had one wrap of crack cocaine weighing 0.175g, and another wrap of crack cocaine weighing 0.151g.

Hemmel pleaded guilty to all charges on September 10 and the case was committed to Chester Crown Court for sentencing.

Recorder Geoffrey Lowe sentenced Hemmel to three years in prison.

The drugs were to be forfeited and destroyed.

Hemmel must also pay a £190 surcharge.
