A DRINK driver from Cheshire who crashed a stolen car has been jailed.

Joshua Jones, from Bewsey, was locked up for 30 weeks at Warrington Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 22, over the incident.

The 26-year-old took a Vauxhall Corsa which was then damaged in a collision on Canons Road in Hood Manor on Friday, August 24.

When breathalysed, he was found to have 95mg of alcohol in his system per 100ml of breath when tested by police – nearly three times the limit of 35mg.

Jones, of Trafford Avenue, also had no licence or insurance.

His actions put him in breach of a suspended sentence handed down by the court in February this year for possession of a bladed article in a public place and assault.

These charges related to an incident in Widnes the previous month, during which he attacked a woman while carrying a knife.

Jones admitted aggravated vehicle taking, drink driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and breaching a suspended sentence during his latest court appearance.

He was also banned from driving for two years and told to pay a victim surcharge of £128.
