WORK from an award-winning artist will go on display at a Cheshire pub – with one of the pieces valued at £1,850 up for grabs as a raffle prize to raise funds for a community hospital.

Sarah Webb, who specialises in fine art using minimal palettes, will showcase her collection – created uniquely for the county – at The Lion at Malpas on October 15 and 16.

With a large following in both the UK and internationally, some people are even flying in from overseas to attend the event.

Webb's latest work focusses on racing, shooting, hunting and field sports – in-keeping with Cheshire’s rich history of rural traditions.

The VIP exhibition on the Friday will be an invite-only event, whilst Saturday’s showing is open to the public.

The event takes place in The Lion’s Brereton Suite.

One of Webb’s original oil on canvas pieces, ‘Sheep on Snowy Wolds,’ – valued at £1,850 – is currently being offered as a prize in a raffle draw, with all proceeds going to Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. Tickets are £5 each.

Woody Barlow, Director of Bear Inns, operators of The Lion at Malpas, said: “We’re very excited to welcome locals and visitors alike for this exciting event.

"Regulars will know some of Sarah’s work is already on display in the Lion as we have been fans of hers for a long time. We’re privileged to be able to welcome her in person and look forward to seeing the new collection.”

Sarah Webb added: “I’ve been working on a new collection of for Cheshire and can’t wait to share the pieces with attendees. There is a very knowledgeable and appreciative artistic community in Cheshire and I looking forward to meeting guests and discussing the paintings or answering any questions they may have."
