CHILDREN at Little Sutton C of E Primary School were showing off their brand new uniform at the start of the academic year, including a change of school colour from blue to green.

The new uniform has been designed to reflect the distinctive character of the Berwick Road school, including outdoor space, forest area, modern curriculum and development as a school.

The forest green, always part of the Little Sutton colour palette, has been made more prominent and used across jumpers, book bags and cardigans, to be paired with grey trousers, grey skirt or plaid skirt.

Headteacher of Little Sutton C of E Primary School, Zoe Carciero, said: “Changing our school colour wasn’t a decision we took lightly but we feel it better reflects some of our key strengths as a school.

"We also slightly updated our logo to emphasise our status as a church school. Our position, tucked away on Berwick Road, means we’re still something of a hidden gem in Little Sutton but we’re proud of our developments as a school, and our new uniform is a celebration of that.

“Ease of availability, eco awareness and affordability were key factors within the selection of the new uniform. Garments are made in the UK and stocked at school, at a cost saving to previous uniform, making it both cost effective and simple for parents to obtain uniform as and when they require it.”

The school, which is part of The Samara Trust alongside Upton Heath C of E Primary School and Clutton C of E Primary School, is also benefitting from a new curriculum introduced in September 2021.

Mrs Carciero, who joined Little Sutton C of E in March 2018, added: “Our new Trust curriculum is available across our schools, and uses the acronym REACH, encouraging children to be resilient, engaged, ambitious, creative and healthy.

"Our children look incredibly smart in their new uniform, and it all ties in well with our curriculum approach, which is aspirational, interactive, diverse and encourages a love of learning.”

Little Sutton C of E Primary School is holding an open day on October 13, 9.30-11.30am and 4.30-6pm.
