FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a chemical spillage at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Tuesday morning (September 28).
Two fire engines – one from Ellesmere Port and one from Powey lane – were called out at 8.31am to deal with the incident.
Upon arrival, they found a small quantity of chloride that had spilt in the chemical room of the Stanney Lane sporting facility.
Crews wore two breathing apparatus and evacuated people inside the building as a precaution.
An additional two breathing apparatus were worn to contain and absorb the spillage.
The area was also ventilated.
