NEW signage has been installed across Wrexham town centre to make the message that e-scooters are prohibited clear to the public.
The Leader has reported numerous times over recent months on the work by Wrexham town police to educate the public on the laws around the vehicles, as well as the potential dangers of illegally using them on roads and in public spaces across the county.
Now the town has had new signs put up to emphasise the message that they can't be used there.
Sgt David Smith said: "Wrexham County Borough Council have very kindly funded signage throughout the town centre to help raise awareness.
"I’d like to reiterate that they can only be used on private land with the permission of the landowner.

"With the assistance of the Leader, we have led a well-publicised campaign to raise awareness about e-scooters.
"Ignorance of the law is not an excuse."
Becky Lowry, regeneration service manager at Wrexham Council, said, “We are happy to support this initiative in order to ensure the safety of everyone working and shopping in the town centre.”
