A POPULAR country pub and restaurant has undergone a major revamp – and these images offer a glimpse of what you can expect when you visit the new-look venue.

The Standard was invited to The Chimneys in Hooton to see the results of its stylish renovation ahead of the long-awaited reopening on Friday, September 24.

Work on the flood-damaged premises took place last month with "significant investment" being made to transform both the interior and exterior of the pub.

Changes include the addition of a stylish private dining area, a beautiful new garden and elegantly-styled interiors.

To celebrate the reopening, The Chimneys hosted an exclusive VIP brunch event this morning (September 22) where guests could take a look around the venue and sample the food on offer.

The dog-friendly pub, which has created 15 new full and part-time jobs as a result of the refurbishment, can enjoy the newly-launched brunch menu from 9am until midday, Monday to Saturday, and 11.30am on Sundays.

Dishes on the brunch menu include cooked breakfast, veggie breakfast, smashed avocado on sourdough toast, pulled beef brisket hash, eggs florentine, eggs benedict, eggs royale and buttermilk pancakes with pancetta.

The pub's new dinner menu will offer freshly cooked dishes including chargrilled skewers, pan fried sea bass and slow cooked pork belly.

Roast dinners will be available every Sunday for both adults and children.

The children's menu also includes a range of mains from margherita pizza, beef burger and lasagne to tomato pasta and battered cod fillet.

The Chimneys will have its own coffee on sale thanks to a partnership with The Coffee Collaborative.

Cakes, drinks and even homemade bread will also be available to purchase and take away.

Speaking ahead of the reopening, general manager Mike Mumford said: "We’re working hard to create a truly unique and stimulating experience for our guests and are so excited to unveil the new Chimneys to the local area.

"The changes that are currently underway are all centred around creating an original country pub with a real difference. The new Chimneys will provide both our regulars and first-time guests with an exciting location to enjoy high-quality dining in beautiful surroundings.

"Both myself and the whole team are incredibly excited to open the doors and welcome guests to experience the new Chimneys for themselves, we hope that they love the transformation."
