AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a father-of-one from Cheshire who was missing for nearly three weeks.
At a brief hearing in Ruthin on Monday (September 20), John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, opened the inquest into the death of Jamie Grimwood.
The body of Mr Grimwood, 23, of Green Road in Runcorn, was found on September 11 in Flint.
Mr Gittins said the death was reported to him by British Transport Police who were notified by Network Rail and North Wales Police that a body had been found in undergrowth.
Emergency services attended the scene and the body was recovered.
Mr Gittins told the hearing that Mr Grimwood was identified by dental records and that a postmortem was carried out.
A provisional cause of death was given as compression of the neck by ligature hanging.
The inquest has been adjourned until a later date.
