A 17-YEAR-OLD from Chester has admitted carrying two knives while out in public.

Chester Magistrates Court heard that the teenage male, who cannot be named, was out in the Blacon area on September 3 with a kitchen knife and a folding lock knife.

Appearing at the court on Wednesday, September 15, the youth pleaded guilty to the charges of possessing a bladed article in a public place.

He was sentenced to a nine-month youth referral order at the Cheshire West, Halton and Warrington Youth Offending Team, which provides youth justice services.

The teenager's parent/guardian must also pay £85 court costs and a £22 victim surcharge.

Both knives were to be forfeited and destroyed.
