PLANS have been put forward to build luxury holiday lodges – each with their own hot tubs – on a site near Tarporley.

The proposed development has been earmarked for surplus land at Blackmare House off the A54 in Little Budworth.

It includes the construction of eight three-bedroom log cabins with outdoor seating, sunshade and hot tubs which are not overlooked, parking facilities and a water feature to add visual interest.

The plans have been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council by the applicants Mr and Mrs G Richardson.

In a planning statement, put together on their behalf by David Taylor, it states: "It is proposed to develop eight luxury log cabins to be supplied by Beaver Log Cabins, a manufacturer based at nearby Winsford.

"Each log cabin provides a master bedroom with en-suite WC and bathtub and two smaller double bedrooms with shared shower cubicle and WC.

"This configuration is designed to cater for the needs a range of users, from families with children of both sexes through to three couples.

"The living area is open plan comprising of kitchen, dining room and lounge. The outdoor seating and hot tub are accessed via French windows from the lounge living area.

"The layout of the eight log cabins is designed deliberately to safeguard the private amenity space of each individual log cabin. No hot tub is overlooked by a neighbouring cabin.

"This is very important because hot tubs can be used in all weathers."

Chester and District Standard:

It adds: "Covid-era restrictions in the global travel industry are encouraging increasing numbers of British people to holiday in the UK.

"This growing demand in the domestic holiday market is creating opportunities for the provision of overnight visitor accommodation.

"In this context, the creation of a new tourism opportunity of eight luxury holiday lodge at the proposed development would benefit the Cheshire West local economy whilst complementing the wide-ranging existing tourist visitor accommodation in the area

"The application site is supremely located to provide visitors of all ages with a wealth of experiences. It is very close to Oulton Park. Other nearby local attractions include balloon or micro-light flights, horse riding, falconry and a Shire horse centre.

"For younger families there is the children’s Crocky Trail adventure playground, Blakemere Village and Snugburys Ice Cream centre.

"For couples there is fine-dining at Nunsmere Hall, a trip to Weetwood Brewery and Distillery or a golf or spa day at the Portal Hotel at Tarporley."
