A CHESTER businesswoman is in the running to be crowned Classic Miss British Isles.

Teana Woodward has been selected to take part in the national final of the Classic Miss British Isles 2020/21 Model Competition, having already been named as Classic Miss Cheshire 2020/21.

The National final takes place on Thursday, September 2, at The Final Furlong Marquee at Chester Racecourse in Chester.

A total of 50 finalists are offered the chance to take part in the national final.

Teana’s hobbies include keeping fit – she is about to start training as a personal trainer – as well as looking after her four chihuahuas all named after X-Men, learning and personal development –she is training to become an NLP practitioner – and spending time with her fiancé, ex-professional footballer and now professional chef Andy at their home in Chester.

She currently works in the corporate world of banking, alongside building her fledgling business as a mentor to women, helping them to rebuild confidence after toxic relationships, using her own lived experience.

She also has an affiliate business selling health and beauty products.

Teana, 49, is a keen advocate for diversity and inclusion, having been named in the Lloyds Banking Group LGBT+ Role Model Awards two years running. She believes it’s not enough to say you are against racism, but you need to be anti-racist too.

She is proud to represent the beautiful area of Cheshire as a confident, mature women in a competition which promotes and encourages diversity, proving that age is just a number.

Teana is thrilled to be wearing her 83-year-old mum’s vintage Frank Usher dress, as one of her outfits for the final.

Much to her late dad’s chagrin, Teana wore it first aged just 16, at a modelling course graduation event. Incredibly it still fits and has in fact been taken in!

Her second outfit is kindly being sponsored and created by local award-winning fashion designer; Matthew O’Brien. She is also being kindly sponsored by another local Chester business; jewellery designer Lucy Quartermaine.

If Teana wins the title, she stands to win a number of fantastic prizes including:

  • A modelling and influencer contract
  • The winner gets to keep the fabulous Classic Miss British Isles crown
  • The winner also gets to keep a studded winner’s sash
  • A portfolio consisting of four fabulous shoots throughout the year
  • Official Classic Miss British Isles gifts and merchandise.
  • Official Classic Miss British Isles Official Appearance wear
  • VIP tickets to Miss British Isles events
  • Jewellery and earrings
  • Fashion wear specially selected for the winner.
  • Professional website
  • Mailshot and introductions to leading model agencies within the British Isles
  • A photo shoot for the winner and their family
  • Hairdressing products and beauty treatments

At the National Final, Teana will be up against finalists from across The British Isles.

Teana will be required to take part in a professional photo shoot prior to the final and then a catwalk show at the final which is in front of the judges and the winner is announced on the day.

Previous winners of Miss British Isles organised events have gone on to be signed by top modelling agencies, taken part in major TV shows and even appeared in a Bollywood film.

The Miss and Mr British Isles finals take place over four days in September.

The Miss titles include Little, Junior, Junior-Teen, Teen, Miss, Elegance and Classic, with the Classic category for women aged 45 and above.

There is also a Mr British Isles competition.
