BLACON High School is delighted to share fantastic GCSE results with its students today (Thursday, August 12).

Once again, students performed exceptionally well with many achieving the top grades.

A school spokesperson said: "This cohort of students has had to cope with unprecedented interruptions to its study over the last year and a half, and the impact of Covid-19 cannot be underestimated.

"These superb outcomes are testament to the ongoing commitment to hard work of both students and staff in really challenging times, and are very well deserved."

Headteacher Rachel Hudson said: "I am delighted to share in the success of our students.

"Blacon High School continues to serve the community of Blacon with a fantastic academic offer and today’s outcomes ensure that all of our students are equipped to take the next steps on their journey and take up places on their chosen courses at a number of schools and colleges in September.

"They leave us with our very best wishes for the future."

Once again, Blacon High School is happy to announce that three more students will be embarking on the next stage of their academic journey at some of the country’s top independent boarding schools.

Following an exhaustive selection process, and after achieving excellent GCSE results, they will be studying for their A-levels on fully funded bursaries, in partnership with the Hope Opportunity Trust.

Approximately 35 students from Blacon High School have now benefitted from the scheme over the last eight years. This is a fantastic achievement and the bursary programme offers a wonderful opportunity for these young people.
